Wood Floor Staining & Colouring
Stains are used when a specific colour is required. There are a wide range of wood floor stain colours available. These can be darkened by applying an extra coat of stain. It is possible to mix colours until you get the colour you require, but this can take time. Stain is applied after the sanding has been completed and is followed by a coat of sealer and then the finishing coats.
When selecting a stain for your wood floor, reputable flooring contractors will recommend that you check a small sample of the stain colour in an area of the floor first. The nature of the wood being stained can dramatically affect the finished colour of the timber floor.
The finish, matt, gloss or semigloss is up to each customer. Sheehan Floors can advise on the suitability of the floor finish depending on the setting or usage.
